Scene: The locker room at the Y, one of my very favorite places evar.

OPIE: Do Crocs care?

ME: Do they care? About what?

OPIE: No! Do they care!

ME: Um. About what? Do Crocs care … about what?

OPIE: NO! Do. Crocs. care. You know! Do they care about this foot or that foot?

ME: Ohhh. Yes, they need to go on the right feet. This one goes on this foot and this one goes on that foot.

OPIE: Why do shoes care and socks don’t care?

Back from a weekend away. The score: 12+ hours of driving, 1 unnecessary detour, 0 (!!) potty accidents, and 1 hour of kid car napping. That last was due to the portable DVD player, which I alternately want to marry and throw out the window of the moving vehicle, preferably when driving over a large body of water.

Haha! So know what you mean about the DVD player. And funny observation from Opie.. so true, why don’t socks care which foot?

p.s. my word verification is tatoes. Now I’m totally hungry for mashed potatoes.

Answer: Shoes care because they are always seen outside the house and they want to make a good impression. Socks don’t care because outside the house, most people don’t see them because they are in the shoes so they don’t care so much about which foot they are on.

Good question.

I’ve wondered the same thing.

LOL!

And zero potty accidents is a trip to remember.

It’s gotten so warm this week that I’m going through the emergency backup clothes stash, realizing that not only are all the clothes too small, but now they’re the wrong season too.

My question is why don’t kids care when their shoes are on the wrong feet? The shoes clearly care, but they have no one to speak for them.

That is very funny.

I love his first “No!” They all think we just know, don’t they?

No potty accidents on the long trip…priceless!

Why can’t shoes be more like socks? Or should we not compare them, just like we shouldn’t compare our kids?
