We live in a rowhome in a blue-collar neighborhood. Down the street is a row of older homes. The little details on these houses are gorgeous. There are these little ceramic (I guess) emblems built in the peak part of the brickwork on the roofs. On downtown Mainstreet, there are apartments built over the stores. There are all these intricate little doodads built into the stonework. Stone plaques that read "Faith" "Hope" "Charity" over the store that used to be the old Doll Hospital (No, really. Finnegan's Doll Hospital. He would take your old, broken Betsy Wetsy and FIX her!!) I think that's one of the reasons that my sense of direction is so screwy....I'm always looking around at architecture instead of watching where I'm going! I was *JUST* talking about this!!
