Bedtime

Mommy, why did Jo and I not die?

Everything worked just the way it was supposed to and here you are.

We were born.

Are you thinking about your baby brother?

Yeah.

He was very sick and he couldn’t be made better.

Why?

He was just too little.

I wanted to see a real baby.

Me too.

Mommy? Why is Darlene the leader of the G-Force?

Ooof. They always ask the hard questions at bedtime don’t they?

Hugs to you all.

Oh, honey. What a loving boy. With an age appropriate attention span.

Like Heather said, many hugs.

It’s amazing how direct children can be . . . and then how quickly their focus can shift, on to the next topic.

I’m sorry.

Gotta love the short attention span…

(((hugs)))

Argh. From the sublime to the ridiculous, eh?

OUCH.

Sweetness…all around.

‘Cause Darlene is a girl and girls rule!

I hope it is comforting that Opie thinks of his little guy. And that he clearly loves him.

Your little guy is so sweet.

Hugs and a few tears for all of you.

Wow. Kids.

I love this post. I love that he is caring enough to think about the brother who’s not here; that he feels safe enough to ask you about it; and that he’s resilient enough to move right on to the G-Force. If only we could bounce back like that, right?

Hugs to all & hope you’re doing okay.

So amazing how they can go from one thought to another with absolutely no segue whatsoever. My son does the same exact thing. Hugs to you!
