My brother and his wife love to hike and bike and do crazily outdoorsy things like sleep in tents and wash their feet in icy mountain streams. They also like to take pictures of each other posing atop terrifyingly high rocky ledges and outcrops. Once they realized how much this raises my mother’s blood pressure, they of course began making an extra effort to record all of their death-defying stunts on film.
So when I showed my kids their last batch of pictures, I mentioned (like a fool) how Uncle Steve and Aunt Amy like to take pictures just to freak Grandma out.
Guess who took that ball and ran with it? (Can you find her in this picture?)

On an entirely different note … I’m giving away a copy of EA Sports Active for Wii at The Full Mommy. Today’s the last day to enter.

LOL – my mother hated heights, and there were many moments when her offspring tormented her with high places.
How did YOU feel about that? This question from the mother of the 15 month old that just knocked out his front tooth to get my attention.
Awesome shot!
Be still Grandma’s heart!
ran with it right off a cliff, eh?
I’m so afraid of heights I don’t think I could do that! It makes me nervous just looking at that.
That’s brave! I remember sitting at the cliffs of Moher in Ireland with a friend with Danish heritage who had to crawl there to look. He got too scared to walk to the edge, explaining that his home country was all pretty much at sea level, so heights were unnatural to him.
I love it! It even freaked me out!
Yikes! At least no one can say she doesn’t have a sense of humor!
Fearless!
Awesome!
At Muir Beach this summer, we climbed way up onto these bluffs overlooking the ocean. I had to get on my belly to look over the edge and there’s my mom – safely back from the edge – screeching, “STOP! Be careful.” Heh. Poor mothers.
